Langport Cemetery

The Town Council acquired the cemetery in 1880. A considerable amount of work has been done over recent years to improve the general appearance of the cemetery grounds. We are also in the process of transferring the manual burial records into a computerised system.
For purchasing of plots or memorials please see below.

Langport Cemetery Wildlife Project
In 2005 Langport Town Council, led by the late Councillor Chris Madelin, undertook a project to maintain the Cemetery as an attractive green space for quiet reflection by creating a sympathetic environment for wild flowers, butterflies, insects and birds. Ten years on, care for the enhancement of biodiversity is still at the heart of the Council’s maintenance and management of the cemetery. A rowan tree is planted in the wildlife area in memory of Chris and her love of nature. We welcome people to come and enjoy the wildlife in the cemetery and help keep a record of the variety of plants and animals sighted.
