Langport Youth Theatre

Langport Youth Theatre - a part of Somerset Youth Theatre cic are excited to invite young people to join their local Youth Theatre, based at Ginger Fred Dance Studios, Westover Chambers, Westover Trading Estate, Langport. TA10 9RB our first session this term is Friday 22nd September at 4pm - 5pm (6-11 years) or 5pm - 6pm (11-18 years). Various performances will take place across the county as part of the SYT Spooktacular at Halloween half term, and now is your chance to get involved! Working with professional Theatre makers, SYT provide safe spaces for young people to create, explore and find their voice through Theatre & the Arts. Young people aged 6-11 and 11-18 years learn skills in performance, design and creativity. SYT specialise in accessible sessions for all young people that allows them to grow in confidence and take performance into the heart of the community. SYT would never turn a child away due to cost, need or accessibility. Artistic Director, Selina Keedwell says ‘SYT is a different kind of drama group. We do not give main parts or pre-written scripts. The young people make the plays. We support them to be brave, make choices and new friendships. So many young people are struggling with confidence or self-belief and we give them a place to be themselves.
