Parkinson’s Dance

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Monday, repeating until 25 March, 2024


A fun and creative movement-based class, designed specifically to address the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease.

With support of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and The Octagon Theatre, classes are led by a team of two specially trained, friendly teachers, using the Parkinson’s Dance Science model – a marriage of physio- therapy and creative dance. Classes feature a variety of dance styles, focusing on: posture, strength, coordination, balance, creativity, suppleness and most of all, fun!

Participants will be supported throughout with seated and standing options, plus time to chat over a free cup of tea or coffee at the end of every session.

When: Monday’s 10am – 11.30am

15 January – 25 March 2024, 10 weekly movement & dance sessions (no session on 12 Feb)
£4 suggested donation per week

Classes are part of the Octagon Theatre’s Arts Engagement & Outreach programme. We are thrilled to be funded by Parkinson’s UK to help support this exciting project. The Parkinson Dance Science Model was co-founded by Neuro-Physiotherapist Dr Sophia Hulbert and Dance Artist Aimee Hobbs with support from Pavilion Dance South West.
