On a beautiful summer’s evening, the Duchess of Cocklemoor arrived by road and was gently lowered into the River Parrett beside the Shakspeare Glass building to the cheers of the watching crowd. Proud skipper Ian Macnab stepped aboard, started the motor, and began to pump out the bilges.
It was an exciting spectacle, and the Duchess looked sleek and ready to go. Sadly, too much water was being taken in, so she was hauled out again for minor repairs.
She’s back in the water again now. Well done to Ian Macnab for a great project with an exciting future.
