This year Langport is entering ‘South West in Bloom’ – the first time we’ve tried this competition. Here’s how you can help.
A small group of enthusiasts are hoping that a financial windfall, some community goodwill and collaboration from residents, volunteers, local groups, clubs, schools, individuals and businesses will help make Langport even more colourful this summer!
As runner up in The Great British High Street Awards we received £500 prize money and it was decided that the funds would go towards an entry into the “South West in Bloom” awards.
So what can we do? Well it can be home floral displays, shop window displays. Community groups or schools or volunteers or friends creating/planting/tidying up an area, yarn bombing, willow weaving, river decoration, plant displays….. Let’s get blooming!
SPECIAL OFFER Residents & businesses can get a beautiful large hanging basket for just £20 (normally retails for £50) to help get as many flowers around the whole of Langport & it will flower all summer. Just let us know if you want one
There isn’t much time and funds are limited so Kate at Windmill Farm Flowers, a member of the Business Group, would love as many of you as are able or keen to get involved. If you think you might be able to help in any way your support would be very welcome. All ideas, contributions and help gratefully received.
The judging day is in July so we need to get cracking very soon!
